English Park
In contrast to the regular French garden, which symbolized nature subdued by the will of man, the composition of the English landscape park, founded in Roztoka in the second half of the nineteenth century, was to suggest free, organic and flowing forms of the natural landscape. The park, located on the surface of 18 ha, lies in the southern part of the establishment, naturally combines with the surrounding open field of farmland and forms the green envelope of the residence. Carefully composed park interiors, including a large meadow with a circular fountain, located on the southern axis of the castle are interconnected by axes of alleys and view openings, creating green enclaves that encourage relaxation and contemplation of nature.
Curiously, there are traces of the old hydrotechnical system powering the castle’s moat and the nearby hydroelectric power station.
